Brazil and Mexico will be part of the top 10 largest economies within the next 10-20 years according to several studies. With the exception of Mexico, countries in Latin America have been resisting well to the worse economic crisis in the past decades and this year’s growth figures show continuing progress. Many countries in Latin America such as Chile, Peru and Colombia have implemented major political and economic reforms in the recent past that have allowed them to show significant improvements: Latin American countries are one the path to dynamic growth.
Brazil is of course the best example. President Lula with a combination of capitalism and socialism has been able to place Brazil on the international map. In particular its successful strategy to mitigate the effect of the economic crisis has been used as an example by many western countries . Today Brazil is the biggest exporter of the region and the country that generates the highest growth domestic product (GDP) of all the countries in Latin America.
Another example of great success is Chile which is surpassing all countries in Latin America in terms of highest GDP per capita. This country has created an ideal environment for doing business and is currently attracting high levels of foreign investments. Chile is the 30th most competitive country in the world and the first in Latin America.
With oil fields in Brazil and Venezuela, lithium in Bolivia, dynamic organic agriculture, strong manufacturers industry in Brazil and Argentina and new technologies in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, countries in Latin America are ready for a bright future. Other sectors are also a great source of development for the region: tourism, real estate and transport in particular are growing very fast.

Latin America countries still suffer from problems such as poverty, high unemployment rate or monetary policies issues; however it is now certain that Latin America countries are on the path that leads en emerging country to a developed one.
